Spring Forward with Community
This month we sunsetted Coalitions, built out the Stamps program, and distributed PAN to your community. In this edition we’ll dive into regenerative land use with the newest member of our network.
Upcoming Events
Town Hall: Tuesday June 7, 11am ET.
Batch 15 PAN distribution: 1st week of August
Inside Panvala
Stamps Support: When your community collects Stamps, your treasury gets bigger. Set up a call to learn how we help your community to collect Stamps. Send your questions to stamps@panvala.com.
Sunsetting Coalitions: The Fellows have decided that going forward we will sunset the Coalitions in favor of prioritizing the Stamps program and Panvala operations. Thank you all for the conversations, connections, and your contributions.
Panvala's Endowment - Batch 14 distribution: We distributed 785,073.94 PAN to Panvala communities from the Batch 14 token release. Your community distribution is based on submissions to the proof of community form and daily staking snapshots using the PAN balance for each account. View our scoreboard spreadsheet here.
Panvala's Endowment - Batch 15 proposal: This quarter's budget proposal for distributing Batch 15's 1,416,572.86 PAN has been submitted on chain. The main change is a one-time increase to the Panvala Fellows Budget from 11% to 17.5% of the total budget. This additional 6% will not come from nor affect the budget that is allocated to member communities. Full details are available in the #panvala-fellows Discord channel.
Community Spotlight: RegenCLT
We are thrilled to welcome another new member to our network – RegenCLT! This organization prides itself on taking land off the speculative market and returning it to the commons for more regenerative use. RegenCLT is a member-based organization with individuals from several different regions of the world, all coming together to work with what they call, “bioregional nodes” to support local ecosystems, communities and businesses.
How does it work?
At RegenCLT, members first decide on what land to purchase by considering its possible impact on members, bioregional nodes, surrounding ecosystem, and local communities. Once decided, RegenCLT acquires land through their 501c3 and hands it over to a local community organization. RegenCLT remains involved, ensuring the project stays aligned with the organization's regenerative values; once the plan for the land is finalized, members of RegenCLT may begin to lease the land for living, farming and conducting business. The bioregional nodes are responsible for all lease compliances, while RegenCLT offers a helping hand and necessary resources to the leaseholders. View a flowchart of the process here!
As one can imagine, this process can have a huge impact on local communities. Not only does RegenCLT help protect land from overdevelopment and extractive practices, it can also strengthen the resiliency of local food systems, water sources, and infrastructure, all while keeping land access available and low-cost for farmers and community businesses. RegenCLT is ultimately helping to create a more sustainable way of living and believes that,
“To be sustainable, all place-based communities need to effectively manage and plan for the challenges of growth, development, food, shelter, water, power systems, local economics, ecosystem health and more”.
Participate in RegenCLT
If you resonate with this mission and want to get involved, RegenCLT invites you to join them through their affordable membership program.
